The Detroit Pistons have started the 2019 NBA playoffs with a challenge – to say the least. Fighting for the final playoff spot in the East put the squad from the Motor City in a matchup with the number seeds, the Milwaukee Bucks. Now, after the losing the first two games, there is an uphill battle ahead, but a recently announced partnership will ensure organizational communications and fan engagement are firing on all cylinders.

The Detroit Pistons announced a multi-year strategic partnership with RingCentral (News - Alert), which will deliver the Henry Ford Detroit Pistons Performance Center with RingCentral Office, RingCentral Contact Center using RingCentral Professional Services.

“Communications and collaboration are core to any business, especially in the sports industry,” said David Sipes, chief operating officer, RingCentral. “We’re excited to provide the Pistons with our world-class cloud communications technology to enhance the engagement for their organization through a robust mix of in-game and in-market activations and hospitality.”

Once deployed, the Pistons will be able to communicate via a single cloud platform, driving better response times and customer service levels.  In addition, RingCentral gains visibility throughout the Arena – digital screens, press table, basketball stanchion signage and official call under review in-game features.

While the Pistons are no longer the “Bad Boys” running roughshod over the NBA, this decorated franchise is on the rise. And Cloud communications are assisting in bringing the pieces together.

Are your communications in the cloud?
