Developers of cloud communications solutions possess a plethora of tools in the developer sandbox, with APIs stealing the spotlight. While APIs are not new, the digital era is driving an increased focus. The boost in stature is also initiating increased investment in these critical developer tools.

Recently, Nylas announced an influx of four million dollars in funding coming from 8VC, Great Oaks Venture Capital, Rubicon Venture Capital and Crunchfund to expand its team and reach, while developing additional Nylas API solutions.

“At Nylas, our priority is to allow software developers to maximize the value of their applications without diverting engineering resources or slowing time to market,” said Gleb Polyakov, Nylas CEO. “Our investors’ ongoing support of the team’s mission will allow us to evolve the product and provide customers a seamless experience.”

Since its inception in 2013, Nylas continues to work toward improving how developers interact with contacts, calendar and email. At the time of this writing, the firm has successfully synced more than 100 terabytes of data as well as over 15 billion emails. Nylas portfolio includes offerings to power email sync and send features within SaaS (News - Alert) solutions. Ranging from legal and real estate platforms, to CRM and marketing automation tools, Nylas APIs offer much in the way of capability.

In leveraging Nylas, organizations can improve deliverability rates via smart connection graphs and analytics. Its suite of APIs integrates with all email providers, and enables bi-directional email sync between email clients and the SaaS platform in use.

“We set out to build clean, developer-friendly APIs that provide the best toolkit for adding email, calendar, and contacts functionality to applications,” said Christine Spang, Nylas co-founder and CTO. “By applying the same strict standards as the large email providers, we see the Nylas APIs as a way to give developers the building blocks they wouldn’t otherwise have.”

Nylas is helping to drive improved workflows and synchronicity, as APIs are a key component of cloud communications and digital transformation.
